Welcome!

I'm not sure what this blog is going to be about.

Fashion blog? Meh. I'm not exactly fashionable: I usually get inspired to wear something non-hobo-y for a couple of days, realize that it takes way to much effort (aka shaving, washing, etc.) to be unoffensive and resort to my rotation of dark denim skinnies, black sneakers, and gray sweaters. Anyone who knows me knows that I shouldn't be one to dole out fashion advice. That is, unless you too want to look like a hipster grandpa...which isn't something you should be ashamed of.

Cooking blog? I used to be all up in the cooking world (Paula Deen, you complete me), but ever since I came to college, discovered the wonders of Shin instant ramen noodle, and got roommates that can do wonders in the kitchen, cooking has taken a backseat to...uhmmm (insert new hobby). Don't be disappointed, reader! Visiting restaurants and cooking blogs still remain a high priority.

Music blog? I've only recently escaped the grasp of the pop music from my youth, made a pandora account, and discovered the wonders of Laura Marling, Johnny Flynn, Emmy the Great, Bon Iver, Lykke Li and so many others. I can't really offer anything in terms of analysis about how ___ sounds like ___ (believe me, I'm in awe of people who can), but I'm constantly learning.

Anyhoo, I guess its a good thing that I can't really put a label on this blog. You could say its a bit of a cop out because it frees me from having to be an expert in any particular area, but I guess it also frees you, dear reader, from confining your entertainment/education/procrastination to one aspect of life (why go to a music blog when you could go to a music and food politics blog??). In my business classes, the professors always tell us: before you begin a project, always ask yourself what you would like the end result to be. Well, I guess if I were to fast forward 5 years and look back at kaobelle, I would hope that this blog was a veritable hot pot of the random things that I was obsessed with at the time. This includes: food politics, fashion (as in, looking at fashion blogs/spreads...not actually wearing them), indie folk music, restaurants, different career fields that don't depress me, celebrities, and Berkeley creatures. Like all hot pot experiences, this blog may suit your tastes at times and be too bland at others, but it's guaranteed to warm you up inside.
